What's extremely offensive in your country, that tourists might not know about beforehand?
This question was brought up a few day's ago on Reddit. Some answers that were mentioned that tourist need to know are:
Thailand, Don't touch people on their heads, it is the highest point of the body so therefore it's the most respectful part. Also never point your feet at a Buddha statue, it's considered very rude.
Also, if you step on money, you'll be thrown in jail, it has the king's face on it and disrespecting him in anyway (like stepping on his image or saying you hate him) will get you a 1 way ticket to a not very nice prison.
When I lived in the Middle East showing the bottom of your feet (like when your legs are crossed) was offensive, saw expats do it all the time though
In Brazil,
The "OK" thing americans do with their hands means 'fuck you' 'Shove it up your ass'. So don't do it.
Ronald Reagan committed the same mistake.
In Germany, doing the Hitler greeting, saying 'Heil Hitler', and the Swastika are illegal here. It's very obviously very inappropriate to visit Germany and pose with your right arm raised for photos, especially when visiting a historically or culturally important place, and yet tourists keep getting into trouble because of this.
When you visit a foreign country be sure to research the local culture so you don't offend any one. You're representing your country, make sure you leave a good impression.

Where to stay when traveling
Traveling the world can be fun and exciting, you get to meet new people and experience new places. One thing though that people wonder about is where to stay when you get to your destination. You could stay in a Hotel/motel but that can get pricey for long-term. You could also stay in a hostel which can be free or very inexpensive. Hostels can be great to meet people, but they can also be a bad thing, especially if you just need to get some sleep and a bunch of kids are there too, partying all night, not good. Another option is to House sit for locals, Here is a website I just discovered called HouseCarers . There are two options when you sign up, free and paid. There is no cost for the free option and your get the same emails from them of people needing someone to watch their house. The paid option is $50/yr. You can switch back and forth if needed. Some people even need people to watch their pets while they are gone instead of putting them in a kennel. This is perfect for bloggers and digital nomads who want to travel the world but don't want to pay the high cost of hotels. Also, by staying at someones house you are within the community and get to experience the country as a local instead of a tourist. Sign up, let me know what you think. Happy travels. :)

13th floor
Jet-Setter's, how many of you have seen a 13th floor at a hotel? Leave in the comments where and if you can, pictures.
Many hotels in the U.S. don't have a 13th floor. More travel supersitions around the world. https://t.co/29L5qyyOqN pic.twitter.com/OIBDjLJedg

5 tips for those airport delays
Follow my blog with Bloglovin
A massive snow-storm has hit the East coast of the U.S. and with that comes many airport delays. Not just on the East coast but everywhere because of connecting flights not being able to take off, so it creates a mess everywhere for air travelers. So what to do while you are waiting for your flight? Here are a few tips to keep busy:
1. Walk. Simple, yes, but if you're healthy enough to walk, do it. You'll get your exercise in, most airports are big enough to walk from one end to the other. Your body will need it after sitting on the plane for so long.
2. Read. If you like to read and need a quite place find the airport chapel and go in and read a book. Just make sure you keep tabs on the time of your plane's departure.
3. People watch. Not in a creepy way but just watch people go by from a bar/restaurant, alway's entertaining if your in the right airport, say vegas ;) .
4. Sightsee. If you have a longer delay and are not in a snowed-in airport, take a taxi and see the sights of the city.
5. 1-day pass. Get a 1-day pass for the Airline club. They can be a great place to have a drink or find a quite place to get some work done, and usually have an outlet to charge your laptop/tablet/phone in comfort without huddling around a pillar on the main concourse.
So, if you are traveling this weekend, stay safe and stay warm. Happy travels.

Not just Casino signs
There are many signs on the Strip aka. Las Vegas Blvd. However, not all of them want you to gamble your money away. Another popular thing for some tourist to do in Las Vegas is to get married at the spur of the moment. For that there are many little wedding chapels up and down the strip. Even casino's are trying to get in on it by having chapel's within the casino. This chapel is one of the more famous Wedding chapels and is at the South end of the Strip next to McCarren Airport, across from the famous Las Vegas sign. After people have their picture taken in front of the Las Vegas sign some cross the street and snap a picture of them selves in from of this one. It is surrounded by green grass, which looks like an oasis because it is surrounded by desert like sand/stones.
Another popular place in the middle of the strip is the Harley-Davidson cafe, which has this enormous sign on the corner of Las Vegas Blvd. and Harmon. The cafe also has a gift shop with all kinds of Harley memorable gifts. It is a popular place for bikers to come and hangout and people-watch after cruising the strip, and yes there is parking for your bike as well.

Signs of Las Vegas
The Glass pool inn has been closed for a while, but the sign and building was standing until the property was sold. Like many properties on the Strip they are very valuable and when someone with a lot of money comes in and offers these property owners a lucrative deal, they usually take it.
The MGM sign is an example of the modern signs of Las Vegas. It's enormous size clearly states this is a Grand Casino/hotel including the LCD TV screen that can be seen all the way down the strip.
This is part of a series of posts on Las Vegas signs. I have to many pictures for one post. Stay tuned for more. If you have your own classic Las Vegas signs photos, leave them in the comments below.
