What's extremely offensive in your country, that tourists might not know about beforehand?

This question was brought up a few day's ago on Reddit.  Some answers that were mentioned that tourist need to know are:

Thailand, Don't touch people on their heads, it is the highest point of the body so therefore it's the most respectful part. Also never point your feet at a Buddha statue, it's considered very rude.

Also, if you step on money, you'll be thrown in jail, it has the king's face on it and disrespecting him in anyway (like stepping on his image or saying you hate him) will get you a 1 way ticket to a not very nice prison.

When I lived in the Middle East showing the bottom of your feet (like when your legs are crossed) was offensive, saw expats do it all the time though

In Brazil,

The "OK" thing americans do with their hands means 'fuck you' 'Shove it up your ass'. So don't do it.

Ronald Reagan committed the same mistake.

In Germany, doing the Hitler greeting, saying 'Heil Hitler', and the Swastika are illegal here. It's very obviously very inappropriate to visit Germany and pose with your right arm raised for photos, especially when visiting a historically or culturally important place, and yet tourists keep getting into trouble because of this.

When you visit a foreign country be sure to research the local culture so you don't offend any one. You're representing your country, make sure you leave a good impression.

5 tips for those airport delays

A massive snow-storm has hit the East coast of the U.S. and with that comes many airport delays. Not just on the East coast but everywhere because of connecting flights not being able to take off, so it creates a mess everywhere for air travelers. So what to do while you are waiting for your flight? Here are a few tips to keep busy:
1. Walk. Simple, yes, but if you're healthy enough to walk, do it. You'll get your exercise in, most airports are big enough to walk from one end to the other. Your body will need it after sitting on the plane for so long.
2. Read. If you like to read and need a quite place find the airport chapel and go in and read a book. Just make sure you keep tabs on the time of your plane's departure.
3. People watch. Not in a creepy way but just watch people go by from a bar/restaurant, alway's entertaining if your in the right airport, say vegas ;) .
4. Sightsee. If you have a longer delay and are not in a snowed-in airport, take a taxi and see the sights of the city.
5. 1-day pass. Get a 1-day pass for the Airline club. They can be a great place to have a drink or find a quite place to get some work done, and usually have an outlet to charge your laptop/tablet/phone in comfort without huddling  around a pillar on the main concourse.

Spring break

Spring break is just around the corner. Soon, millions of people will be taking 1-2 weeks off to go somewhere warm, to escape the cold and work. But when they get to their vacation spot, it turns out to be more stressful for they try and do everything in a short period of time. The NR way to travel is to go for a month or two, rent a house or condo. This way you can actually save money and really get to see the area through a locals view point. As for the work thing, not every job can, but most jobs, technically can be done remotely. If you can't or management is stubborn and say's no, then go two weeks and pace your self.
